Week 5: If I Never See Their Faces Again…
It has been six years since I last saw my primary school mates. Between you and I, chatting with them after six years of absence can be quite awkward!
I mean… imagine not talking to your best friend after six years?!
To some, I guess the feeling is mutual huh? – I reckon some of my poly mates are in constant contact with their primary and secondary school peers. Sometimes, I honestly envy those who keep their friendship for more than 10 years. That is something that I think is really admirable.
For what is worth, I do have a friend with whom I have a 14-year friendship.
14 FREAKING YEARS!
I guess she is the only one whom I have been in constant contact with. Her name is Pearlyn and she is also in the same polytechnic as me. I presume it is probably by mere coincidence that we were in the same polytechnic.
But hey, who gives a shit!?
On a serious note though, she is an amazing friend to have. She helped me during the O’s when my subjects were failing one after the other. I am really indebted to her when she came to my aid.
On the Macro view, I do think that keeping friendships alive are just as important as breathing. Why?
Is it not obvious?
A world without friends is similar to a world that is dead. Back then I have contemplated on the idea of having absolutely no friends, unsurprisingly the mere thought of it gave me the shivers.
Ergo, I have been trying to keep in contact with my school mates, especially my primary school friends. I dare say that all it takes to break the ice is just a little initiative from someone…
*Sigh*
After six years of primary school education, five years of secondary school education and three years of polytechnic education, will I Never See Their Faces Again?
Apparently, that is the case.
Till next time readers…
